As white people, we find there are many things that we can’t do due to it being labelled as cultural appropriation. It’s only fair that other races do not appropriate our culture.

So here is a list of things that you, as a non-white person, can not do.

  1.  You can not speak English.
  2.  You can not use Western medicine.
  3.  You may not use the internet.
  4.  You may not listen to rock music.
  5.  You may not use the word ‘cracker’. It is not your word.
  6.  Do not use things invented by white people, i.e. computers, pianos, telephones, aircrafts, pencils, cameras, or the theatre.
  7.  You may not get drunk with beer.
  8.  You may not wear any clothing created by white people, as it is racist and appropriating.
  9.  You may not synthetically dye your hair.
  10.  Do not use slang created by our people.

Signed, Kie.

white people are so sad they don’t even know where their culture ends and the personal achievements and theft from other cultures begins.

“clothing created by white people”

you mean the clothing sewn by low-wage workers in asian and african countries for mass-production countries.

and you have no “western medicine” considering a big chunk of europe was too fucking stupid to bathe. nor do you have rock music without the creation of jazz by black artists in harlem.

read a book.

rock music? really the music that was once called negro music LOL. White people will start believing that they invented water and air.

cracker? western medicine?

THEATRE?

GURL BAI

look at this fucking person who doesn’t actually understand cultural appropriation.

this is ALMOST as funny as the person who told me that vikings were culturally appropriated. y’all fifty shades of hellmann’s muhfuckas need to get the fuck on.

LOL I broke down and wrote a point-by-point rebuttal.

  1. A whole lot of POC and indigenous ppl have no choice. They were violently forced to speak English and smother their native languages. Suddenly that’s appropriation on the POC/Natives’ part? Right. Also apparently at some point the Western world as a whole became English-speaking. Right.
  2. … because Western medicine evolved on a totally separate plane outside of the influence of, say, the Arab world, and has never in a million years borrowed or outright stolen knowledge from non-Western people, ohhh no. The mining and patenting of indigenous medicinal knowledge isn’t still ongoing, ohhh no.
  3. What?
  4. Oh lord you gonna be so disappointed to find out rock music was created by and appropriated from Black Americans. BLACK.
  5. At this point you’re just desperate, aren’t you?
  6. You really think white people invented and mastered all of that? All alone?
  7. LOL what. The Egyptian and Mesopotamian civilizations just became white and I missed it?
  8. So tell me what clothes would those be? The ones sewn CREATED in factories and sweatshops in different parts of Asia?
  9. …Because henna is suddenly a white tradition HOW?
  10. LMAO.

Feel free to add tidbits if I missed something.

Conclusion: Some bitches just want to stay basic.

white dude, maths and the numbers we use were sussed out by brown folks when your people dying of the plague, and since computers are fancy math machines…

and yo, and I never heard of cotton being grown in Europe, like ever.

same goes for silk.

and since you’re being such a shithead, you can quit eating corn and potatoes too.

ugh seriously, this?

Gonna make a list of the comments I’ve received on my skin color:

  • “Creamy caramel.”
  • “Honey brown.”
  • “Strong olive.”
  • “Mocha.”
  • “Warm olive.”
  • “Naturally bronzed.”

And more. Going to recall.

There is no African, myself included, who does not appreciate the help of the wider world, but we do question whether aid is genuine or given in the spirit of affirming one’s cultural superiority. My mood is dampened every time I attend a benefit whose host runs through a litany of African disasters before presenting a (usually) wealthy, white person, who often proceeds to list the things he or she has done for the poor, starving Africans. Every time a well-meaning college student speaks of villagers dancing because they were so grateful for her help, I cringe. Every time a Hollywood director shoots a film about Africa that features a Western protagonist, I shake my head — because Africans, real people though we may be, are used as props in the West’s fantasy of itself. And not only do such depictions tend to ignore the West’s prominent role in creating many of the unfortunate situations on the continent, they also ignore the incredible work Africans have done and continue to do to fix those problems.
